It's Polar Plunge Time Again!

Join our team or donate today!

This is normally the time of year that we’re getting ready to be “Freezin’ for a Reason”. Even in these unique times, State will again be supporting this year’s [unconventional] Polar Plunge benefiting Special Olympics at the $5,000 sponsorship level. Our team’s goal is to raise $2,500, because State will again be matching dollar-for-dollar to get to our $5,000 sponsorship goal.

Just think, with a $75 commitment from just 35 State employees, we will reach our goal of $2,500, to achieve the $5,000 corporate sponsorship with our company match.

In lieu of a traditional lake-plunge day, the 2021 “Official Plunge Day” is Feb 13thand registered team members are being given the opportunity to help raise money for the Special Olympics in two different socially distant ways:

Plunge Down a Tubing Hill or Snowshoe on Feb 13th Chill at Home “Plunger”
There are opportunities for fundraisers to “plunge” down a tubing hill at various ski resorts around the state of Wisconsin, locations and details can be found here: https://polarplungewi.org/choose-your-adventure/the-great-outdoors/ For those that prefer to stay #saferathome, and for employees across the country, you have the unique opportunity to join our State Polar Plunge Team this year with the “at home plunge” options. If you register and raise $75 by Febraury 4th, you will receive a Chillin’ at Home Plunge kit! This kit will include your Plunge T-Shirt, hot chocolate & coffee mug, a festive cookie cutter & recipe, a Plunge sticker, all shipped right to participants homes.

Ideas provided by Polar Plunge for “at home plunges” are:

  • Add a bucket of ice water to your favorite TikTok dance
  • Take the Plunge into a bathtub full of ice
  • Take a kiddie pool Plunge in your backyard
  • Dump an iced beverage from your favorite coffee shop on your head
  • Swimsuit snow angels
  • Winter water balloon fight
  • Come up with your own creative idea

Our team will again be accepting donations right to their personal fundraising pages, or you can make a general team donation right online through Polar Plunge and the Special Olympics:https://www.classy.org/give/t337921/#!/donation/checkout

Spots on the State team are open now, so if you would like to participate send an email to Amy Conner amyf@stcol.com with your commitment.  We’ll need to know if you’ll be joining us no later than Friday, January 29th.

With the “Chill At Home” plunge option, we hope to have a great BIG State team this year as the Special Olympics could use our support more than ever, or if you would rather support the team by helping us reach our monetary goal – every little bit counts and all money raised goes directly to Special Olympics of Wisconsin!

Thank you all for your continued generosity and commitment to our local charitable organizations!
