Skip Tracing Tools

Skip tracing is a key component to the prompt and effective resolution of accounts with missing information. Our high volume team utilizes a wealth of on-line systems and in-house resources, as well as their own expertise, to efficiently locate hard to find debtors. A sample of these resources includes:

• NCOA (National Change of Address) processing for address corrections and address updates.
• Metromail electronic phone number search for the right party and for nearby phone numbers.
• Electronic batch service via the internet which is batched and electronically loaded into our software system FACS, that provide varied levels of information from a basic phone number search, a social security number search, to a next of kin search, to property ownership information.
• Credit bureau reports are retrieved provide asset information in addition to location information. All credit bureau requests are processed electronically, and the actual credit file is appended to the individual debtor account upon receipt.
• Utilization of the internet to find available debtor information

State Collection Service requires training on current skip tracing techniques for all collection specialists.  These skip tracing resources are utilized by skip tracing specialists and collection specialists as needed to find debtor information.
